A little more info …
Since the company’s inception in 1987, the raincoat has been one of our core products – and was known as the “rubber coats” for many years. Lotte Honoré started the company by selling these black rubber coats in Copenhagen. Because the rubber coats are a McVERDI classic, they are still being produced and is still one of our most popular products. Most often they are reprinted in classic black – but occasionally new special editions in other colors are added. This year in this wonderful cobalt blue! The coat is warm, stylish, and practical. And it may be one of the most suitable coats for the Scandinavian unpredictable weather. It is in every way a really good investment in a practical and nice coat that we are confident you will be very happy with. The raincoat lasts a long time and has a timeless classic design. This raincoat, McB, is one of the raincoats that we have had in the collection for over 30 years and it is still a hit!
The coat has a simple front look, where the ends of the drawstring can be adjusted inside the coat. The coat has a hood, zipper, zip pockets, inner pocket, and a drawstring across the back where the elastic can be adjusted, depending on how much freedom of movement you want in the back. The nice thing about the coat is that the drawstring goes a bit around the front, so it just marks the waist. The coat is very water repellent, but not welded at the seams and does not have 100% rainproof details – so it is a good answer to a transitional coat for the wet spring or autumn, but not an alternative to the 100% practical raincoat. On the other hand, you get a nice piece of outerwear that can also be used in good weather and looks nice when worn open.
The fabric
The outer fabric of the raincoat consists of 65% cotton and 35% polyurethane, which gives the material its rubber-like surface. The surface makes the outer material windproof and highly water-repellent, while the cotton allows for a practical coat that is breathable. The lining is made of 80% wool and 20% polyamide. The coat cannot be washed or dry cleaned as a general rule – but it doesn’t really feel necessary either. The coat can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and hung up to air out in damp weather. If you feel that the coat really needs to be washed, it can be gently washed in the washing machine on a delicate cycle – but this should only be done very rarely, maximum once per season. The fabric is produced in Italy, while the coat is sewn in Bulgaria.
