Long shirt, button dress or dress with buttons? A beloved child has many names – and in this case, our dear style also has many functions. For some, this popular Helle silhouette is almost like a jacket that adds the finishing touch to their outfit. For others, it’s like a tunic that is lovely to wear over a pair of loose pants. And for some, it’s their favorite dress with decorative buttons along the front. How it is worn is up to you. It can do it all and is super versatile with its good pockets on the side, buttons, and sharp shirt collar. The model is one of our “CLASSICS” and is called the HELLE button dress. In this striped version, it is a summery version of itself and definitely worth considering for your wardrobe.
The fabric
The button dress is sewn in a wonderful linen quality, woven in beautiful stripes. The color and stripe combination is developed and designed specifically for McVERDI. When our Italian textile designer develops for us, we often receive color samples woven together in a large piece of fabric. Usually, the intention is for us to choose one or two different stripes to proceed with from this “blanket”. But often we fall in love with the complete expression. In the combination of many colors and stripes, creating a color story that ties the collection together. Originally, this piece of fabric was just examples of different stripes that could be made from the yarns we had desired. But as often before, we fell in love with the entire color sample and proceeded with two multi-striped versions – a green/blue story and a pink/red/orange story. Additionally, the fabric is woven from colored yarns, so each stripe is mottled and the fabric has a beautiful play of colors. The fabric is 100% linen and has the well-known and special linen structure. Linen has a luxurious feel, it drapes beautifully, and it is lovely to wear when it is warm. Linen wrinkles – and one must get used to it or learn to love it. It is part of linen’s natural “behavior” and expression. You can certainly iron linen and get a sharp look, but we actually recommend letting linen be linen and instead accepting the wrinkles and letting the fabric work. Wash your shirt gently in the washing machine and let it dry on a hanger. The fabric is produced in Italy, while the shirt is sewn in Bulgaria.
The silhouette and fit
The button dress has a full length of 100 cm in size medium and features a light A-line silhouette. It has a fitted silhouette around the bust and is relatively narrow at the back and shoulders. It is built on our popular Helle silhouette.
