Summer, sun, rain, and wind… That’s Denmark at its best… A little bit of everything, and we can never be completely sure of a summer full of sun. In a mix of sunshine and raindrops, the web team Julie, Helle, and Nønne embarked on a road trip in the McVERDI car, venturing into the unknown along the beautiful north coast, starting from Ålsgårde where McVERDI has its headquarters and store.

We discovered the most wonderful spots along the beach road and enjoyed café visits, went on picnics, shopped for marvelous summer flowers, and found great treasures for the summer house. We immortalized the experiences with lots of fun pictures 📸 📸

CAFÈ H.U.G. IN HELLEBÆK

Our new neighbor, Café H.U.G., is a small café located right by the forest and beach on Nordre Strandvej in Hellebæk. The name H.U.G. stands for “Helt Uden Gluten,” which means “Completely Without Gluten” – absolutely brilliant for those who miss delicious gluten-free baked goods 🍰🥮

Here, we tasted the most delicious cakes, which are also organic. It’s the most charming little former ice cream shop, where you can sit indoors among charming chairs and tables with loads of charm, and even enjoy live music occasionally 🎵🎵

It won’t be the last time we’ve tasted Café H.U.G.’s sweet treats – they’re located way too close to McVERDI, so we can hear when the cakes are calling us…. 🤗

HORNBÆK PLANTAGE

We set course for Hornbæk Plantation – the beautiful, wild, and rugged woodland that stretches 3 km along the coast, perfect for dog walks, bike rides, and hikes where time stands still 🥾🥾

We chatted, laughed, and shared funny stories along the beach, and after a relaxed picnic by the water, we felt like visiting Hornbæk town, so we continued cruising along the coast.

BLOMSTEN IN HORNBÆK

We found our way to the beautiful courtyard and flower shop, BLOMSTEN, in Hornbæk. Rarely had we seen such fresh, lush, colorful, and fragrant flowers as here. Julie started choosing flowers for a lovely summer bouquet, and Nønne found a beautiful bulb plant that she just had to bring back.

DRØMMEHUSET IN DRONNINGMØLLE

We rounded off our road trip by exploring Drømmehuset with its delightful items for the home! Pots, baskets, books, cushions, garden furniture… It’s a paradise for those who love finding cozy items for their homes or the perfect gift for a friend.

We received a tip not to miss the beautiful view overlooking the lake across from Drømmehuset, so that’s where we took our last picture from our cozy and fun Road Trip in the summer countryside along the north coast.
